What sources can you restore from?

Most commonly our restoration work comes from vinyl or 1/4 inch reel sources but we can work from almost anything. It is always preferable for us to work from the original source so that we can ensure that the analogue to digital conversion is as good as possible. If the original source is not available we can work from other transfers from a variety of formats. Many analogue sources have already been transferred to CD-R, DAT or data file formats when they arrive here, much of our work on the Trojan label material has in fact come from 1/4 inch reels which themselves are copies of original vinyl pressings ! for more detailed info on providing sources see the 'what source should I provide' FAQ in the high end mastering section.
